I'm Dr. Hieu. I have a doctorate in bioengineering, and I read tarot. I care deeply about human relationships.

I found tarot seven years ago, on a night with a friend who'd just finished her psychiatry residency. I started this pursuit in earnest after a heartbreak completely took me apart.

I reached for science first: attachment, repair, the way we choose people who confirm our deepest beliefs about ourselves. It both explained everything and changed nothing. You can understand your pattern perfectly and still give in to the compulsion at 2am.

What changed it was practice: ritual, contemplative traditions, the inner work people have done for thousands of years. Tarot is just one of those tools; not fortune-telling to predict the future, but a mirror to show you what you already know and don't want to see.

Science explains it. Practice changes it.

I also officiate weddings. I've watched couples stand before each other and speak promises for what they've actually built the capacity to keep. That's what all this is for.
